The Yard-O-lette pencil was a small, 'ladies version 'of the Yard O Led brand.  It is constructed in solid Sterling Silver and carries a clear hallmark dating it to 1951.  The makers mark is that of 'Johnson Mathey & Co., suppliers of Siver tubing for pencils to the Yard O Led company.

This is an exceptional example, it has no dings, or personalisartion and is in perfect working order.  The barrel is hexagonal and has clear, sharp chasing and a blank cartouche.  It is a very tactile item and, as is often the case with Silver, it is more attractive 'in the flesh' than in a photographs. 

The Yard O Lette is not a common vintage pencil by any means and one in such outstanding condition is extremely hard to find, and very collectable.
