Vintage Rabari tribal silver ear gauges with beautiful, unique repoussé hand-hammered work. The Rabari people are an ethnic group of nomads that roam the western states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab. You may hear them referred to as gypsies with their rich culture and traditional Indian heritage.
Each gauge is one of a kind, vintage with the gorgeous old tribal silver look and feel. Handmade by silversmiths. The gauges have a screw thread, so once they are on they are safe and sound. Very comfortable to wear and a good weight. You can easily wear as a pendant too.
Rabari 1 is the second largest, starting from the bottom in the group photo. It weighs 11.6 grams, and has a variety of engraved markings.
Rabari 2 is the next one up on the left, with filigree work, and a weight of 6 grams; # 3 is to the right of #2. It's a bit smaller with a floral motif in the center and weighs 5.9 grams. Rabari 4 (top left) has scalloped concentric circles and a smaller floral back, and is 7 grams.
Rabari 5 (top right) is the largest with circles of dots and a larger dotted back. Weight is 12 grams.
