“Lucy — affectionately called Lou. A mother of a boy and a girl, working at a publishing company. After dinner is cleared and the children are asleep, she looks forward to her nightly coffee in this mug while preparing for the next day”.

The "My Mug" series by Yumiko Iihoshi is named with a sense of playfulness, imagining the personality of the person who might use each piece. A mug is a deeply personal object, something that reflects its user and becomes a cherished part of daily life. With this in mind, this series was created in collaboration with kilns across Japan, each piece expressing the unique materials and techniques of its region.

“Lucy” features a softly rounded form, a warm beige glaze, and a subtle rust-colored line along the rim for a gentle accent. This piece is finished with a matte glaze.

We hope each mug, with its name and story, becomes something like a companion you grow attached to over time.

Due to its nature, rubbing strongly against metal may leave marks similar to pencil lines. If tea stains occur, we recommend using a mild bleach, baking soda, or a melamine sponge. Each piece is finished by hand. Variations in colour, texture, size, and capacity are natural and part of its character.
