The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/100-Tr VE.Can is a high-current MPPT solar charge controller rated for a 150V maximum PV input voltage and 100A charge current output. It is designed for professional off-grid and large battery charging installations where network monitoring, system integration and high charge capacity are required.
The 150/100-Tr VE.Can sits at the upper end of Victron's BlueSolar MPPT range. A 100A charge current means it can deliver up to 5.8kW of charge power into a 58V battery bank, or proportionally less at lower battery voltages. This makes it well suited to large 12V, 24V or 48V battery systems where multiple PV strings are combined before the controller. The 150V PV input ceiling allows for series-connected panel strings of reasonable length without requiring a high-voltage DC system.
The VE.Can interface is the key differentiator over the standard BlueSolar MPPT 150/100-Tr. It connects directly to the CAN-bus network used by Victron GX devices, allowing the charge controller to appear as a managed device within a larger system. This enables coordinated charging, state-of-charge awareness from a connected battery monitor, and full data visibility through the VRM portal. For installations with multiple MPPT controllers, VE.Can allows all units to be monitored from a single GX device without additional adaptors.
The TR designation refers to the screw terminal (Tr) connection format, which is appropriate for fixed installations using standard DC cable. The unit is housed in a metal enclosure and weighs 4.5kg, reflecting the thermal mass required to dissipate heat at sustained high charge currents.

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited solar installer. The PV input voltage must not exceed 150V under any conditions, including cold-temperature open-circuit voltage. Ensure PV string Voc calculations account for minimum site temperatures. The VE.Can bus requires correct termination resistors at each end of the network; Victron supplies RJ45 terminators for this purpose. Battery chemistry and voltage must be correctly configured before commissioning. For off-grid systems connected to a generator or grid supply via an inverter-charger, coordinate charge settings across all devices to avoid conflicting charge sources.
