After two amazing weeks in rainy Japan last June, we touched down in Sydney knowing we had to pay homage to the Land of the Rising Sun. 

It seems like everyone is visiting Japan lately, and rightly so. A country teeming with history and tradition, filled with quirks and aspects of lifestyle that seem so novel to people from other parts of the world. A cuisine that ranges from hearty to delicate; you can slurp hot ramen alone at midnight, taste the smoky char on your yakitori in a cigarette-smoke-filled izakaya as the salarymen clock off, or taste the richness of the fatty tuna on your nigiri. I can almost taste it right now.... anyways.

Matcha was everywhere. Tea, milk, matcha kit kats, chocolates and biscuits, pastries, you name it. After trying the matcha latte - combining earthy notes with sweetly-frothed milk - we were converted. We loved the shade of true, ceremonial grade matcha powder. A deep, saturated green, we wanted to make it pop on this football shirt. 

We referenced several J-League badges to create the "Atelier Football" badge, complete with a Sika deer. These deer roam freely amongst people in the peaceful town of Nara, and have even learned to bow to people for feed. Unique and memorable. 

Convenience stores are the lifeline of a Japan trip, and while we loved each one of the big 3 (IYKYK), we couldn't waste the opportunity on this chest sponsor.
