I was on vacation a few years back and while walking through a crowd, I saw what I thought was a woman opening her partners backpack while they were walking. At least I hope they were together. As the man was walking, she unzipped the pack and began to remove items. 

When I returned home, I realized how easy it would be for someone in a crowd to open conventional backpacks and remove items without the person even knowing about it. The person could then make a quick getaway and you would be none the wiser.

I immediately began working on a new design for theft resistant backpack that would be difficult to gain entry without the wearer knowing someone was tampering with it.

Enter the Stealth Travel Backpack. The Stealth has a slim design, no exterior visible pockets, the main compartment zippers are hidden behind a large flap, making it nearly impossible to find unless the pack is laying flat.

The main compartment exterior is made of Invista 1000D Cordura with polypro webbing and a black Blood Borne Pathogen (BBP) resistant front panel separated by 3M reflective piping for safety at night. Why use a BBP panel and reflective piping? The only way to open the pack is when it is off your back and laying on the ground or table. I can say with relative certainty that most airport floors are not that clean. If you do get it dirty, simply wipe it clean. Two large #10 YKK pulls on an inverted metal coil zipper surrounds the back flap protected by a large covering that makes the zippers invisible from a distance. (HINT: put the two zippers in one corner of the bag. It makes it impossible to open while on someone's back.) A top rubber handle makes it easy to carry around and it falls back when not in use.

The back straps are securely attached to the pack and with the centre chest strap connected, there is no way for someone to grab your Stealth from behind and take off with it.

We have placed a lumbar pocket at the base of the back panel with two long head #5 YKK zippers, covered with another large flap to prevent any skin contact. This pocket is perfect for wallets or cell phones.

Inside, 420D nylon lines the Stealth. Two elastic pockets to hold up to a 15” laptop and a tablet against the back. The main body has several pockets to secure chargers, pens, tablets, paperbacks, and with our packing modules, you can safeguard clothing and electronics.
