These Escher-y tesselated tile coin purses are named after the Palio di Siena horse race in Italy, whose teams (called contradas) compete under flags using similar graphics. They are a wonderful accessory for safekeeping credIt cards, coins, cash or small keychains. The purses are made for us by members of a women's cooperative above Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. The pouches are fully lined in cotton poplin.
