Refined white pellets used in encaustic and in oil painting mediums and varnishes as well as Batik, wax resist and candlemaking.

Batik  is a technique of wax- resistant dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a canting (I also spelled tjanting). The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by soaking the cloth in one colour, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating if multiple colours are desired.

Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design that can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric. Through several centuries, people have applied marbled materials to a variety of surfaces. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. Part of its appeal is that each print is a unique monotype.

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface, usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used. The simplest encaustic mixture can be made by adding pigments to beeswax, but there are several other recipes that can be used, some containing other types of waxes, damar resin, linseed oil, or other ingredients. Pure, powdered pigments can be used, though some mixtures use oil paints or other forms of pigment.
