My life changed when I realized I needed to love myself. When I decided I had the power to heal. I didn’t have to stay with the pain and wounds that were passed on to me and I didn’t have to pass them on.

It took a long time to believe I was lovable and worthy of the love I wanted and needed. Once I started healing and letting go of shame, love started coming in and making a home in my heart, soul, and being. I started genuinely loving the person I was, am, and will be. I spoke up for myself and no longer let people bring shame into my being. I saw how the way I was treating me was teaching people how to treat me and treat themselves: con amor.

It’s a long, imperfect journey, but I wouldn’t change it one bit.
