The Petzl Connect adjust is a lanyard system designed to speed up making belays on sport climbs. You just clip in to the in-situ belay and adjust to the required length for a comfortable belay position.

The adjustment device is a simple auto block and works just like a belay plate being used in guide mode, this means it locks when under load but allows slack to be pulled through easily to shorten the length of your lanyard. The lanyard is a dynamic rope so will absorb shock in the event of a small fall, however it is not designed to withstand a fall from above an anchor point (factor 1). Under no circumstances should it be used for Via Ferrata.
