Scarce, later edition of this key 19th century astronomical work. Bound in printed wrappers with a picture of the Great Refracting Telescope in Cambridge, MA on the back. Condition is acceptable: The book’s simple binding has split & needs to be repaired. The front & back covers are detached & several pages are loose. Some dampstains to the front cover & wear around the edges of the pages, particularly at the corners. However, the book appears to be complete & the pages themselves are clean & in good condition. Since the pages are already loose, this would be a fine candidate for framing, as the maps themselves are desirable & valuable just on their own. I decided to sell the book at a low price, as is, & let its new owner choose whether to split it up or conserve it.
