The abrashed red field features a large lobed center medallion anchored with flaming palmette pendants at either end. A variety of geometric botanical motifs surround the medallion in an intricate arrangement of palmettes, serrated leaves, boteh, buds and blooms. Stepped corner spandrels echo the designs of the medallion and field, while a line of boteh along the edges connect the spandrels. A traditional Herati border creates the perfect enclosure. With its complex design unified by the repetition of colors and traditional sensibility, this vintage Heriz rug would add style and panache to nearly any space.
