Poor hoof quality?
Poor hoof quality can mean that the hoof horn is fragile, cracks or splits easily. It could also be that hoof growth is poor or slow, that the hoof horn is far too soft or that the horse easily gets hoof abscesses.

Poor hoof quality can cause the horse to e.g. becomes difficult to put on shoes, slips easily or becomes lame.

Elastic hoof
The hoof functions as a shock absorber and must withstand great weight and load. Therefore, it is important that the hoof is elastic. If the shock absorption does not work, the joints, tendons and ligaments will have to take a higher load, which can cause wear and tear and lameness.

Nutrition for a strong hoof
In order for the hoof to maintain high quality and function elastically, the right nutrition is needed. Hoof contains biotin, zinc and selected amino acids. All these subjects are needed and are part of the building and structure of the hoof.
