This added stability helps reduce warping and supports consistent, high-quality results—especially when working with larger models or materials prone to deformation, such as ABS, PC, and Nylon. Note: The Smooth PEI Sheet is permanently bonded and cannot be removed from the build plate.

Considerations

• Please note that when using the Smooth PEI Plate on the A1, there is an increased risk of corner lifting or reduced adhesion, which may cause printed models to detach during printing. This is due to the thicker Smooth PEI layer, which increases the distance from the bed magnets and slightly reduces magnetic holding force.
• If bubbles form on the underside of the sheet, placing it on a heatbed at a temperature of at least 80°C for several hours can help remove them.
• Dust and grease buildup on the build plate can reduce adhesion. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to clean the surface regularly using detergent and water.
• Avoid using acetone to clean the Smooth PEI surface, as it can cause damage.
• Allow the build plate to cool for a few minutes before removing your printed model. This makes removal easier while helping to protect the plate from damage and extend its overall lifespan.
• Gently sanding the surface with fine-grit sandpaper (around 600 grit is recommended) can help restore adhesion.
• The Smooth PEI plate is classified as a consumable component and will naturally wear with use over time. The warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not extend to cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or cracks. Coverage is limited to defects identified at the time of delivery.
