Olfactory description

Civet paste is one of the most potent and influential animal raw materials in the history of perfumery. Its aroma in its pure state is extraordinarily intense and complex, very far from the soft notes it develops when used diluted in perfumery.

In the undiluted raw material, intense animal, fecal, ammoniacal, and urinary facets predominate. These characteristics, far from being considered defects, are part of the material's aromatic identity and explain its extraordinary transformative capacity within a composition.

When used in appropriate dilutions, civet undergoes a radical transformation. The more aggressive notes progressively disappear and give way to musky, warm, sweet, and surprisingly soft facets.
