The process involves placing the timber in a pressure vessel and subjecting it to a vacuum to remove any air inside the wood cells. The vessel is then pressurized, and the preservative chemical is forced into the wood under high pressure. The timber is then allowed to soak in the chemical solution to ensure complete penetration before it is removed from the pressure vessel and allowed to dry.
