Suyeon Somyeon (수연소면) from Myeon Ga Won is crafted using a 12-step kneading and pulling process followed by 8 resting cycles over 28 hours. Each strand is hand-pulled from Korean wheat flour, creating silky noodles that hold their texture and don’t stick together.

The result is a noodle that’s light yet resilient, with no wheat odor—just clean, satisfying texture. Perfect for everyday meals or elevated dishes alike.

Cooking tip: Boil for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, rinse in cold water, then serve with veggies, egg, seaweed, and a splash of sesame or perilla oil. Top with sesame seeds.

수연소면은 '손으로 늘인 국수'라는 뜻으로 기계가 아닌 정성 어린 손작업으로 만들어집니다. 순우리밀 반죽을 숙성과 늘림을 반복하며 빚어낸 면발은 들러붙지 않고 탄력 있으며, 밀가루 냄새 없이 깔끔해요.

국수는 12단계의 반죽과 8번의 자연 숙성 과정을 거쳐 완성됩니다. 삶는 시간은 2분 30초가 적당하며 찬물에 헹궈 식힌 뒤 삶은 달걀, 채소, 김, 들기름 또는 참기름을 더하고 검은깨를 뿌려 드셔보세요.

Founded in 1975 by Master Hee Tak Kang, Myeon Ga Won is Korea’s original hand-pulled noodle maker. Despite losing both hands in an accident, Kang pursued his craft with dedication, earning acclaim for his handmade somyeon. Once reserved for export and luxury gifts, these noodles are now crafted by the third generation, using only natural ingredients and traditional methods.
