High-end, all-in-one point-and-shoot cameras are increasing in popularity. Leica is joining the fray with the new D-Lux 8. Built around a 22-megapixel four-thirds sensor, it has a built-in Vario-Summilux lens offering a 24-75mm, 35mm equivalent zoom range and razor-sharp imaging. Its updated software stack draws inspiration from the company's Q models and includes support for DNG RAW captures, and an included on-camera flash offers creative flexibility far beyond that of smaller built-in strobes. Its compact body makes it ideal for travel and it's compatible with a host of optional accessories, including a hand grip, carrying straps, wrist straps, and leather protectors.
