Organic Waste Decomposer (OWDC) – 50ml is a microbial compost starter used to break down organic waste such as kitchen peels, dry leaves, grass clippings, plant residue, and garden waste. It helps convert waste material into useful compost for pots, grow bags, vegetable beds, flower beds, lawns, and home gardens.
OWDC is useful for compost bins, leaf composting, kitchen waste composting, garden waste piles, and home composting setups. It is mixed with jaggery and water to prepare an active decomposer solution, which is then sprinkled or sprayed over organic waste layers.
Mix OWDC and jaggery in clean water, stir well, and cover the container with cloth, paper, or cardboard so air can pass but insects stay out. Stir once or twice daily.
The solution is usually ready in 3–5 days, depending on weather. Prepare only the amount you need for your compost bin, dry leaves, kitchen waste, or garden waste.
Keep the remaining OWDC bottle tightly closed in a cool, shaded place.
For good compost, balance wet kitchen waste with dry material. Too much wet waste can smell, attract flies, or become slimy. Do not use OWDC on plastic, glass, metal, chemicals, meat, oily cooked food, or diseased plant waste. Keep the prepared solution and compost area away from children and pets.
What is Organic Waste Decomposer used for?
It is used to prepare decomposer solution for breaking down kitchen scraps, dry leaves, grass clippings, plant residue, and garden waste into compost.
How do I prepare OWDC solution for a small compost bin?
For most home compost bins, prepare 10 litres by mixing 5ml OWDC + 100g jaggery in clean water. Stir daily and use after 3–5 days when the solution becomes active.
Can I use OWDC for kitchen waste?
Yes, use it for plant-based kitchen waste such as vegetable peels, fruit peels, tea waste, and spoiled vegetables. Avoid meat, oily cooked food, plastic, and chemicals.
Why is my compost smelling bad?
Bad smell usually means the compost is too wet or has too much kitchen waste. Add dry leaves, old compost, or garden soil and mix lightly.
Can I pour OWDC directly on plants?
Do not pour concentrated OWDC directly on plants. Use the prepared solution on compost waste and use only finished compost around plants.
Is Organic Waste Decomposer a fertiliser?
No. OWDC is mainly a compost starter and decomposer solution. The finished compost can improve soil, but OWDC itself is not a complete fertiliser.
