An outstanding Hardy CC DeFrance fly rod, 7' 2-piece, 2-tip rod. Mint, uncast. DF action that feels to me like it should cast a #4 beautifully. Built from pre-embargo cane by Tom Moran and Callum Gladstone this rod was part of a limited run of 25, of which this is #6. This rod is a great homage to the venerable CC de France model, which Hardy made starting in 1911 and which was itself inspired by the well-known tournament put on by the Casting Club of France (of which Louis Bougle was a founder and at which many renowned anglers of the day competed for accuracy and distance casting).

Blonde cane with a 3-up node pattern. Wrapped brown with brown intermediates, cinnamon at the ferrules. Lovely glass-like varnish. Agate stripper. Nice truncated step ferrules which are oxidized along with the front cork check and cap and ring. 4 1/2" slim cigar grip and 3 3/4" cork reel seat. The tapered nickel silver ring is expertly machined along with the pocket cap. Both are oxidized and the ring is stamped with the serial number. Pocket cap is stamped "Hardy Bros LTD, Makers, Alnwick England". The butt section is lettered "The CC de France, Palokona, Reg'd Trademark 1911-2011". Tan bag with stiffener and Hardy logo. Handsome leather tube stamped "Hardy Brothers, Made in England".
