• Set your space Choose a quiet moment and a clear, stable surface away from draughts. You may choose to light incense, place a crystal nearby, or simply take a few slow breaths to settle your awareness. Preparation creates the container for your intention.
• Choose your candle with intention Select the colour that resonates with what you are calling in or working to release. Hold the candle briefly in both hands. You may choose to silently or aloud state your intention — keep it clear, present, and positive.
• Dress the candle (optional) For deeper work, you may choose to anoint the candle with a ritual oil or diluted essential oil. For drawing energy toward you, stroke the oil from the ends inward toward the centre. For releasing, stroke from the centre outward. You may also lightly roll the candle in dried herbs aligned with your intention. Use herbs sparingly — never leave a dressed candle unattended.
• Light the candle Trim the wick to 5mm. Light the candle and take a moment to observe the flame as it steadies. Breathe. Bring your intention clearly into your awareness. You may meditate, pray, write in a journal, or simply sit in stillness as the candle burns.
