Not just the ocean, but the raw, terrifying power of a colossal wave, frozen in its cresting moment.

The technique is dual-focused: first, using a large, flexible trowel to sculpt the perfect, deep, smooth curve of the water's face, relying on the smooth, parallel lines to suggest momentum.

Second, using a heavily loaded, stiff brush and palette knife to violently stab and flick the paint at the crest, creating the thick, chaotic, exploding texture of the foam and spray, capturing the noise and anarchy of the break.
