Fürst's iconic 2017 Centgrafenberg Spätburgunder GG opens deep, fresh and intense on the nose, with refreshing and spicy terroir and mocha aromas intertwined with concentrated fruit (or fruit skin) aromas and lemon zest notes. Lush and silky on the palate, with refreshing acidity and a beautiful transparency, this is a silky-textured, tight and still a bit mealy Pinot with a sustainable and highly tensioned finish. This is a real character, and again, it's not about charm but about serenity, energy and tension. What a character! Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2019.
