Here is a superb M. K. Spittler Co. 8′ 2/2 fluted hollow-built quad for a DT5 line. Excellent original condition. The level of craftsmanship Mr. Spittler possesses is beyond impressive! The rod weighs 4 1/8 oz. Medium fast dry fly action. Serial #293. Single nickel silver ring over cork reel seat with a nicely burled wood insert below the seat. The rod has oxidized square-to-round ferrules with a bit of bluing loss on the female ferrule. Sam Carlson-like delrin check above the slightly soiled grip and a square-to-round grip shape as well with a reverse wells flare. Darkly flamed cane with golden nodes in a spiral pattern. Garnet silks and black edges. Outstanding varnished finish with only a few very small use marks (no chips). Comes with it original labeled poplin bag and original labeled tube. A phenomenal rod!
