Eagle Floats dock floats are engineered for long-term durability in freshwater or saltwater environments. Each float features a rotationally molded polyethylene shell filled with solid EPS foam to eliminate leaks and prevent waterlogging. UV stabilizers and impact-resistant materials ensure season-after-season performance in any climate.
Installation is quick and flexible — molded-in mounting slots allow easy attachment to both wood and metal dock frames. Whether you’re building new or retrofitting an existing dock, Eagle Floats provide dependable performance backed by over a decade of customer trust.
Q: I'm not sure what float I need for my project - is there someone that can help me?
A: Yes, we have live, U.S. based support standing by to help answer your questions and plan your project. Check out our Contact Page for more info.
Q: How do I attach floats to my dock?
A: Attachment technique and hardware will depend on your frame system (aluminum, steel, or wood). For wood docks, the floats are attached using a 4" lag bolt & washer, inserted up through the float rivet and into the wood framing, at a minimum of 4 attachment points on each float. See our custom washers and lag bolts for easy installation and maximum strength.
Q: It looks like my float is missing a cap — why is there a hole in the top?
A: To regulate temperature and pressure, dock floats are transported in a “vented” state with a small opening that allows heat to escape the float. The vent plug is shipped along with the float, tucked up under one of the mounting rivets. Once the float is in the water, which regulates the temperature, the provided vent plug can be threaded into the hole to keep water from entering the float.
Q: What size dock float do I need?
A: Choosing the right size (and count) of dock floats is an important question that is answered through understanding the weight of your dock system, the freeboard you want, and the live load you expect. Check out our Dock Builder's Guide — or browse our DIY Kits.
Q: Can Eagle Floats be left in the water during winter and freezing temperatures?
A: Yes! Eagle Floats are built to handle freezing conditions and ice. However, in areas with strong currents or heavy ice movement, we recommend using a removable setup to protect other components.
Q: Can these floats be filled with water to get them under an existing dock system?
A: No — all Eagle Floats use a solid foam core and cannot be water-filled or air-filled.
