For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model 50DF - 8' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod. The rod is in excellent original condition with one exception. The top guide of the butt section was re-wrapped expertly by South Creek Ltd. (Mike Clark). All sections are full length and straight. 

Mildly tempered cane with transparent caramel-colored wraps. Blued guides and tip-tops save the stripping guide. Swelled butt with a ring hook keeper. Nickel silver winding check. Classic cigar grip 5" in length with moderate soiling and the slightest of ridging. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a butternut spacer with a nickel silver butt cap featuring the Leonard stamp. The ferrules are size 15/64 and 10/64 with a great fit. Includes original ferrule plugs. The rod weighs 4.10 oz. The action is medium to medium-fast with a good bit of backbone in the butt thanks in part to the swelled butt. This coupled with the thin supple tips makes for a very versatile rod. Includes the original bag with mint condition hangtag which reads, “DL Lock, 8 feet 4 1/8 Ounces, No. 50DF”.
