The Replogle Sherbrooke II Floor Globe features an ornate base in the style of the 19th century neoclassical American designer, Duncan Phyfe. Taking inspiration from that tradition, the cherry-finish hardwood stand features brass claw feet. The 360 degree die-cast meridian is gimbal-mounted to the frame, enabling the world globe to be rotated up and down. The stand presents the Replogle globe in an unobtrusive manner. The half circle that cradles the globe's meridian gives the viewer an unobscured glimpse of this antique political map. The Sherbrooke displays parchment-colored oceans that are complimented by the myriad of earth toned hues from the respective landmasses. The continents appear as a mosaic of complimentary colors that shade each individual country, and feature current political divisions. The Replogle globe has a raised relief, meaning that the varied topography of the planet is recreated three dimensionally on the surface of the globe. The planet's tall mountain ranges rise from the sphere, giving it a slightly rugged texture. The neoclassical approach to this model gives the Replogle Sherbrooke II Floor Globe a distinct edge compared to others in the line.
