Kojic acid is created through fungus fermentation (mostly Aspergillus species) of different carbohydrates.It promotes skin whitening and creates an even skin tone for all skin types.

• This mild acid has excellent antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-aging properties. 
• It is widely used as a skin lightening agent around the world. 
• It effectively removes dark spots and hyperpigmentation and is a safer alternative to hydroquinone.

• It can be found in creams, lotions, serums, and soaps.

Use the recommended concentration of 1-3%.

pH Stability: It is stable at a pH of roughly 4. 

SOLUBILITY: Soluble in warm water, ethanol, and acetone;

partially soluble in ether, ethyl acetate, chloroform, and pyridine; and difficult to dissolve in most other liquids. 

FORMULATION GUIDE

Add to the heated (25-40°C/77-104°F) water phase of the formula. When exposed to hot water (over 40°C/104°F), it may oxidise and lose action. 

Can be coupled with other skin lightening products. To decrease oxidation caused by kojic acid, use vitamin E tocopherol or BHT in the cream formulation. For exterior use only.
