Dindy Reich is an Emeritus Faculty member of the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University. She joined the faculty in the Fall of 2003 after many years of teaching in Illinois, Kentucky, Texas and Colorado. At ECU, she taught Drawing, Two and Three-Dimensional Design and Community Arts Management. Prior to this she was Gallery Director and Lecturer in Art at the University of Texas-Pan American from 2000-2003. She also taught Metals for fourteen years at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She works in mixed media using paint, collage, fiber, wood and metal.

Dindy is also a nationally recognised jeweller and sculptor. She received her B.A. in Art from Grinnell College and her M.F.A. in Jewellery Design and Silversmithing at Indiana University. Her work has been included in many shows all over the United States as well as in Japan, Spain and Mexico. She was a founding member of the Colorado Metalsmithing Association and was the curator of numerous shows at both the University of Texas-Pan American and Colorado College. She coordinated the ECU Youth Arts Festival in Greenville, North Carolina for fourteen years. Her work has been included in Galleries and Exhibitions in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, have represented her work. She has given many presentations in North Carolina, Colorado, and Barcelona, Spain. In Krakow, Poland she gave a presentation on Ukrainian jewellery after the Break-up of the Soviet Union. Her artwork can be found in many private collections and in several monographs. She lives in Greenville, North Carolina with her husband and dog, Stella. She and her husband, Lee Maril, have five children and many grandchildren.
