This is a time-tested and proven pressure plate, the ultimate for high performance applications.  The stock VW pressure plate is designed to handle up to 134 ft-lbs. of torque, wheras the Stage 1 Kennedy handles up to 180 ft-lbs with its 1700 lb. spring pressure. We'd normally recommend this one for motors that will put out at least 100 HP.  This is the ultimate street clutch set-up.  It will give just a bit on big motors to reduce shock load on your trans and driveline.  Make sure to order a performance clutch disc to go along with it for maximum drivability and superior clamping force!  The Exide disc works great, as does the Kush-Lock.
