The Shimano XT PD-M8100 XC Race Pedals are designed with XC riders in mind. Featuring a lot of the same technology found in the XTR race pedals without the added cost. The pedal body sheds mud easily, and they have a wider, edge to edge shoe interface for better power transfer. Cleat interface: They have a duel sided cleat interface with adjustable cleat retention. Shimano states they work best with Shimano XC series shoes and come with a 1mm cleat spacer (to fit a larger range of shoes) and SM-SH51 cleats included.

Materials: The pedal body is made from anodized aluminium and the axle is made from a more durable chromoly steel.

Pros: They are adjustable, durable and offer efficient pedaling.

Cons: While they are still pretty light, they are not the lightest clip in pedals around.
