Description:Steam distillation has long been utilized for extracting essential oils and alcohol through the passage of steam through biomass material. During the process, volatile steam compounds are vaporized, condensed and collected in a receiving flask. This method is commonly used in organic chemistry labs and is also suitable for home distillation to extract essential oils.
Compared to HMK21, this kit comes with an additional biomass flask located between the claisen adapter and the distillation adapter. The claisen adapter allows for the addition of extra water to the system without stopping the distillation process by using a separatory funnel, which can be replaced with a pressure equalizing funnel or a simple powder funnel. The distilling flask only contains water to produce steam.
All glassware parts in this kit come with 24/40 standard taper joints for a safe and convenient seal. The kit includes two separatory funnels for water addition and separation, a 500mL round bottom flask, a 500mL flat bottom flask, a claisen adapter, a biomass flask, a 3-way distillation adapter, a penny head stopper, a liebig condenser, a 105 bent distillation adapter, 16ft rubber tubing, 10 joint clips, and a cork stand.

This is a steam distillation apparatus for producing essential oils.
The glassware parts are all made of high quality borosilicate glass and annealed at 800 degree Celsius ,can be heated directly in an open flame and can withstand typical laboratory thermal variations in chemistry processes like heating and cooling.
The glass apparatus in this kit are with 24/40 interchangeable taper joints, the joints are precision grounded with an extra hand grounding process to ensure leak free.
