Rosemary hydrosol, also known as rosemary hydrolat, is a delightful herbaceous floral water derived from the steam distillation of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) leaves and blossoms. Rosemary hydrosol, a byproduct of essential oil extraction, contains beneficial chemicals similar to the oil itself. Additionally, it includes water-soluble chemicals that offer various skin benefits. Rosemary hydrosol's invigorating aroma, astringent, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties make it ideal for oily and acne-prone skin. It can improve skin tone, regulate acne, protect against UV damage, and boost mental health.

How Does it Work?

New investigations indicate that rosemary hydrosol has a polar volatile component (2). Hydrosol contains much of the same components as essential oils, but with differing charges. Some are water-soluble, whereas others are oil-soluble and dispersed in hydrosol as tiny molecules. Their unique polarity and smaller molecular size result in greater penetration power. Hydrosols can be more effective than essential oils in some situations.
