These units require no introduction. Extremely rare Mastering Lab LA2As. Only 6 in existence.

1) Transformerless: they have no input or output transformers, decoupled with a capacitor to maintain correct impedance.

Sounds: absolutely the best vocal compressor/limiter. You can always add transformers but you cannot take them away. Therefore if you want to pass audio through iron transformers such as the ha100x or Ls10x, and the UTC A24, you can always add them in your chain. These mastering labs units are accurate to the source, warmth, transparent and super subtle.

How do we use them.

We currently have two custom built mid side matrixes. One built with 8 transformers UTS LS31 and another with 8 x Malotki 1:1.42. the units can be used as dual mono or mid side. Design was copied from an original Abbey Road mid side Matrix. We can bypass the transformers, we can add the transformers in mono, or we can use the transformers to separate the sounds into Sum/Diff (mis/side).

Unique units, we unique mastering flexibilities. Currently using black face pair for vocals, and gold face pair for 2-bus. The gold faceplates have extremely small recall metrics, 10 lines in between each large line. You can zoom in the picture. The blackface units still have the original settings used in mastering labs.
