You can hear and see the value of LDA Constrained Layer Damping pads placed underneath digital equipment, particularly streamers, Blu-ray, DVD, CD, and game players, as well as vacuum tube components and speakers. More subtly, the viscoelastic material underneath power sections of the products provides additional benefits.

Standard 3-layer Constrained Layer Technology focuses on rigid isolation. Les Davis originally developed a 1 mm thick version with the subtle use of a viscoelastic material sandwiched between Aluminum to provide added damping. The second generation (2.0) expanded to 7 layers, and Gen 2.1 expanded to 8 layers with viscoelastic on both the top and bottom of the pads, while maintaining a 1 mm thickness.

A surprising value is to use them as shims underneath turntables and equipment to balance them. It's always good to have a few nearby. Dual adhesive versions allow monitors to be rigidly mounted to stands. Single-sided adhesives work well underneath platforms. Adhesive sides are protected with a removable white film.
