The snaffle bit encourages the horse to raise the head. It is often used on horses that walk behind the bit. When taking the reins, the mouthpiece slides up and the horse gets pressure in the corners of the mouth and at the back of the neck. The bit can be used with one or two reins or with pelham straps. In most cases the bit is used with two reins, one rein is normally attached to the bit and the other reins to one of the lower rings or the end of the pull-up straps. This way, the rider can only use the retrieval operation when it is really necessary. *This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.

The Dr Bristol mouthpiece is a double jointed mouthpiece with a flat intermediate piece. During relaxation, this insert lies flat on the tongue and applies light pressure. When the horse touches the bit with the tongue and threatens to take control, the intermediate piece tilts, causing the bit to have a sharp effect on the tongue. *This bit is not suitable for the inexperienced rider.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface oxidization through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production in a natural way. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This corrosion process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-grey.
