Tyre for mixed terrain with new XC Race Formulation

Fast rolling, aggressive cornering, race-proven compound and casing construction - this is the tyre for XC courses that mix hardpack with root lattices and the occasional rocky stretch. Now available in 2.4 option, and with black or brown sidewall colours, the Mezcal XC Race is engineered for pure XC speed, and its pedigree is proven with multiple UCI World Championships and XCO European Championships.

The continuous centre line maintains fast-rolling contact, and its offset extensions are siped to multiply the number of leading and trailing edges, propelling you up the trail on climbs and increasing bite while braking. The rear siping on the shoulder knobs runs parallel to the trail with variable widths and open trailing edges, so the Mezcal corners fast on hard, slippery surfaces - despite being such a fast-rolling tyre. For climbing, cornering, or careening down hill, no tyre cooks like the Mezcal.

Technology explained:

The Race Formulation employs Graphene + Silica compound, providing increased wet grip and suppleness, and combines a 60TPI Tubeless-Ready casing to optimise deformation. This combination has been shown to reduce rider fatigue while simultaneously increasing race-day reliability.

The new casing, new compound, and new size addition of Mezcal shows a 3% improvement in rolling performance compared to previous versions. When applied to a real-world scenario, this means that a Mezcal XC Race rider will gain up to ~.75 km/h of average speed over the course of the race. These benefits are in addition to an 11% increase in grip (especially in wet), and improved puncture resistance.
