Description:
Jose Cerebrière, Uruguayan conductor and composer, was born in 1938. He studied composition with Copeland, then with Antal Dorati, then a permanent member of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, and then with Pierre Montoux. He was later recognized by Leopold Stokowski, who greatly influenced him as a composer and conductor. He was also named Composer-in-Residence of the Cleveland Orchestra by George Szell at a very young age. This performance by the Cerebrière & Scottish National Orchestra is colorful and full of Glazunov's brilliance, and the character of each work is clearly delineated with a crisp and clear touch. The booklet is not included in this series. Warner Music Japan
