The great violinist Salvatore Accardo has been at the forefront of the Italian violin world ever since he won the first prize at the Paganini International Competition in 1958 at the age of 17. This collection of Beethoven sonatas, recorded in 2019-2020, includes three early works: the second and third sonatas, dedicated to Antonio Salieri, and the fourth, Beethoven's first sonata in a minor key. Using Neumann U47 and U48 tube microphones, the sound is natural, with no sound quality adjustments, equalization, reverb, compression or expansion.
