Why this aircraft matters

N175UA rolled out in August 1990 (serial 24382), destined for United. It entered service the same month. It flew both transpacific and transatlantic routes throughout its career. 

This jet embodied the iconic 747-400. It featured the classic four-class layout—First, Business, Economy Plus, and Economy—with range up to 7,222 km. It balanced capacity and innovation across decades. By October 2017, United had retired all 747-400s from service. N175UA ended its journey in storage at Victorville, California.
