Formed in 1973 by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Terry Chambers, and Barry Andrews, XTC signed with Virgin Records in 1977 and became popular for their unique pop style in the New Wave movement of the time. In 1979, Dave Gregory joined the group following the departure of Barry Andrews, and in 1982, Terry Chambers left the group to form the three-piece XTC. 1986's "Skylarking," produced by Todd Rundgren, became an international hit. However, the band is now virtually inactive, with only Andy Partridge remaining. Influenced by the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and psychedelic rock, XTC's sound is full of originality and has had a profound influence on Japanese musicians. XTC's live archive of their different sound styles is finally being released on CD! XTC's album "English Settlement" was released in February 1982 and reached the No.5 position in the UK Album Chart and sold as well as its predecessor in the U.S. However, the band was tired from a hard touring schedule and decided to return to the U.S. to perform live. However, tired of the hard touring schedule, the band did not tour with the release of the new album, but played only 11 promotional concerts in the U.S. and Europe (they have not played any concerts since then). (They have not performed any more concerts since then...) Among these limited tours, the concert in Berlin on February 10 of the same year was recorded and broadcast as a special TV & radio program on WDR (Germany). The setlist of the concert was mainly songs from the new album "English Settlement," and this live album is a complete recording of the concert, faithfully reproducing the songs from the new album that established XTC's sound. The album features a performance that not only showcases XTC's musical prowess, but also their greatness as a live band.This live album captures the band's last tour as a band, and has been long-awaited by fans!
