The GUBI A 1972 Rise and Fall Pendant Light is an adjustable version of Paavo Tynell’s 1972 design, combining natural materials with refined craftsmanship. The conical shade is made from bamboo slats that are hand sewn into a pleated mat and fixed by hand to a wire frame.

A linen liner sits between the bamboo layers, directing light downward while allowing a soft, diffused glow to filter through the slats and upwards. This layered construction creates warm, atmospheric lighting with gentle variation across the surface of the shade.

Signature brass details add a subtle decorative accent and complement the natural tones of the bamboo. A fabric diffuser beneath the bulb further softens the light, while the rise and fall mechanism allows the height to be adjusted to suit dining tables, kitchen islands and living spaces.
