The 24th release on the luxury Berlin label "bastille musique" features Gérard Grisée (1946-1998), a leading French composer of the "spectral school" who theoretically composed music by analyzing overtones as sound waves and spectra. He studied in Messiaen's analysis class at the Paris Conservatory, Dutilleux's composition class at the Ecole Normale de Musique, Stockhausen, Ligeti, Xenakis, and others in Germany, and was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1972.
