Steve Perry, vocalist of the golden era Journey, which had a string of big hits including "Don't Stop Believin'," "Open Arms," and "As You Like It," as well as many solo hits including "Oh, Shelley," is back in action! Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" in 2017, his achievements are once again in the spotlight, and this new album is his first in 25 years since his last album, "Strange Medicine" (1994). Perry self-produced the album, which consists of all new songs except for a cover of The Beatles' "I Need You. It was an emotional experience to compile 30 years of my life into 10 songs," Perry said. I had the creative freedom to begin writing and recording these songs. In the process, I rediscovered my love for music. Each song expresses the traces of my past, but also contains hope for the future." The songs depict the deeply personal aspects of love, inspiration, and rebirth from a time away from the scene to the current revival.The band's preceding single, "No Erasing," is the first of its kind, with a nostalgic yet new sound and the same elongated voice throughout the album.
