I hand-cut and finished this one-of-a-kind freeform bead pendant from genuine Astrophyllite crystals in an albite feldspar matrix from teh Kola Peninsula in Russia. Measurements are shown in the listing title. 3mm drill hole will fit most chains. CHAIN NOT INCLUDED.
This piece features a natural, untouched surface on the front face, showcasing the radiating sprays of golden, metallic needles that catch the light with a subtle, sparkling effect, with the remaining surfaces carefully sanded and polished.
The name Astrophyllite comes from the Greek astron (“star”) and phyllon (“leaf”), a reference to the starburst patterns formed by its blade-like crystals. Sometimes called “fireworks stone,” it is known for these radiant, explosive formations. The matrix may include associated minerals such as feldspar, mica, titanite, zircon, nepheline, and aegirine, adding depth and variation to each piece.
Metaphysically, Astrophyllite is often associated with insight, self-reflection, and personal transformation. Its radiating structure is said to symbolize inner light emerging outward—encouraging clarity, awareness, and the integration of one’s deeper truths.
This is a beautiful and unusual material that remains relatively uncommon in the lapidary world, especially in pieces that preserve both natural and polished surfaces. Each piece I make from this material is entirely unique.
