Since their debut in 1993, Seafiel has been known as one of the pioneering electroacoustic bands, having worked with cutting-edge electronic labels such as Too Pure, Rephlex, and Warp. Their unique style, a fusion of indie rock and ambient techno elements with influences from My Bloody Valentine and the Cocteau Twins, was the talk of the town. The band's radical, psychedelic sound was dubbed "post-rock" by Simon Reynolds, a writer for the British music magazine "The Wire" (and has since become a genre name). The band has added two new members, Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg) and E-da (ex.Boredoms), and is now ready to release its first album in 15 years.
